Intention Tapping

I talk on this page about how EFT Tapping combines my two passions  - Intention Tapping is no different in that respect, and while we do use the same points and take the clients' words and responses and explore them, this way of using tapping is has its unique aspects.

Let's think of sushi restaurants for a moment - if EFT is the type where you finish off a set of dishes that have been brought to your table -  maybe one at a time, maybe dotting around - before ordering the next set, Intention Tapping is like sitting by the little conveyor belt and taking a morsel one at a time.

We work exclusively with what the unconscious presents us with next, whether that is a thought, a belief, a sensation, an emotion, an image, whether it's related or not to what has just come up or the starting point of the session. The journeys Intention Tapping can take us can be fascinating, unpredictable, revelatory,  if you allow that.

We focus not so much on the content itself, but on our emotional attachment to it being -  or not being  - the way it is, which allows us to be OK with what is, which is a freedom in itself, don't you think? This would be a top down approach.

And because we are still working with the energy circuits of the system, we give sensations the importance they deserve, aiming to restore the flow and balance of the disturbances we notice. Not to be rid of these sensations or emotions, but to allow them to do what they need to do to process. This would be a bottom up approach.

Not everybody can access their emotions on demand, some people are very kinesthetic, others are more thought/word based, others are very visual. Intention tapping suits these kind of people beautifully. All you need to be able to do is "notice what you notice".

What else is different?

In traditional EFT there is an order to things - we first focus on all the dark uncomfortable stuff, spend some time clearing it out, and then there is room for reframing the situation. This may come from you as you suddenly realise something isn't as weighty as it was or with a little help from me if my intuition is sparking. When the terrain of your mind is feeling safe and capable, we'll probably bring in some gentle reprogramming with how you would like things to unfold, maybe some colour or positive sensations.

That's not the way with Intention Tapping.  If the idea is that you can be OK whatever happens, we also want to ensure that there is no emotional attachment to the positive outcome. Different strokes for different folks ;-)

Is tapping for you?

Whether it's EFT, Intention Tapping or even the more mystical Light Matrix work (which I highly recommend if you have a more cosmic worldview and love the woo!send me a message if you want to know more...) there's a way to tap to suit most people.

Even though tapping has helped millions of people around the world in the last 40+ years, some people still find it looks too silly to even try, or won't accept that there is solid research behind the fact it does work, even if we can't yet explain how it works. If that's you, then no, it's not for you - let's not waste each others' time if you're not open to it working.

But if you are open, and in Barcelona or elsewhere in Europe, I can help you feel better in your skin if you feel:

...stressed by aspects of your life

...annoyed you spend too long ruminating about what just happened

...trapped by self imposed limitations

...stuck in habits that don't serve you

...held back by harsh self-critisism

...restricted by "lessons" you learnt as a child

...you don't know why you can't while others can

...feel that you are sabotaging your own success

On a tangible level that may mean anything from getting rid of insomnia or a frozen shoulder, to taking the steps to bring in more clients or face a job interview that terrifies you, from clearing an allergy to cats to standing up for yourself like never before. Maybe it's just as simple and profound as feeling more comfortable in your own skin.

EFT is very focussed - if you know what it is you want to work with, be it uncomfortable memories or associations, addictions, or specific fears or phobias for example, EFT is a great choice.

Intention Tapping, as mentioned, could lead us anywhere - trusting your subconscious that it'll bring up what you can and need to deal with, and if we missed it at first mention  - lots of people start with a gush of thoughts, so that can and does happen -  we can trust that if it needs some love, it'll pop back up.

The beauty of both forms is you can reveal as much or little detail as you wish. It is gentle and powerful. You have the answers, you will be the one who finds your path through your stuff while I hold space for you.
